The MOOSE is based on a new method in which the extinguishing and containment line for wildfires is constructed completely automatically using a trailer pulled by an off-road vehicle. The method utilizes innovative hose pressurization and the automatic deployment of sprinklers. The trailer also functions as an extinguishing unit, containing its own motor pump, water tank, and remotely controlled water cannon. The motor pump and water cannon are operated manually from the towing device. Take a look at a video!

At the core of the operation are hose cassettes that are be placed on a trailer, allowing the line to be pressurized as soon as the first hose is deployed. The pressurized hose automatically spreads from the trailer as the vehicle moves forward. Sprinklers are installed between each hose, and they automatically rise upright using water pressure. With the pressurized hose line, the water tank in the cart can be continuously filled, and firefighting can be conducted without interruptions in water supply. One hose cassette can create approximately 400 meters of a restriction or main line, and an empty cassette can be easily replaced with a full one. Product line offers several different options of the device with a restriction line of up to 1000 meters (See the datasheet).

What is special is that the fire restriction line and the waterway needed for firefighting (main line) are constructed simultaneously, allowing the extinguishing of burning terrain to begin as the line is being built. The use of the framework, extinguishing, and restriction lines built by machine power requires very few rescue personnel, and the construction of the line is extremely fast.

Based on research, award winning technology

The product significantly speeds up the control of wildfires and prevents the emergence of uncontrolled large wildfires. In tests conducted by the Rescue Services Academy Finland (2022), the speed of the tracked ATV was nearly three times faster than traditional manual line construction. The new method further accelerates this significantly, as hoses do not need to be manually connected during line construction.

The Finnish Fire Protection Fund awarded the Moose as the number one innovation of the year 2025 for Fire and Rescue Services.

Patent applications have been submitted to the European Patent Office (EPO) regarding the operation of the sprinkler, the principle of operation of the trailer, and the method made possible by these.
